Wait times
Ollivander’s is tied with Forbidden Journey as the attraction that can get the longest lines at Universal Orlando. It is not uncommon for the wait time to get as high as 75 minutes or more during the park’s busiest times. However, unlike Forbidden Journey, Ollivander’s queue is totally outside with no fans or misters, making it quite uncomfortable in Orlando’s hot, humid climate. If you are at all interested in Ollivander’s, you will want to get to the IOA turnstiles 20 minutes before the park opens and head directly to this shop! (See the quickest route on our WWoHP map.)

Quick reference for estimating the wait time
This quick reference will most likely only make sense to you if you have reviewed the Ollivander’s page in our WWoHP insider’s guide.

• The backside of the queue leading to Ollivander’s entrance is half full: 20 – 30 minute wait.
• The backside of the queue is completely full: 30 – 45 minute wait.
• The backside of the queue is full, and the front side is half full: 45 – 60 minutes.
• Both the backside and the frontside are full: 60 – 75 minutes.
• Universal has added on temporary rope chain extensions to make the queue even longer: 75 minutes or more.

What you wish you knew before you experienced it
Ollivander’s is not even listed on Universal’s park map as an attraction. Nevertheless, let me express one more time that it is very busy, and the queue for Ollivander’s is extremely slow and completely outdoors. During Orlando’s warmer months, you do not want to be in this line between 10:00am and 2:00pm while the sun is cooking. Also, it is very important to know that only ONE out of each group of approximately 25 guests will experience the wand choosing him or her.
