How much are the tolls from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to the Orange County Convention Center? Convention Center to Universal Orlando? Universal to Walt Disney World? I realize that some may be different than others, just give me an approximate? And is it each way? I don’t want to be talked into something by the car rental agency without some general knowledge of what I am looking at paying without any rental agency fees or passes. Thanks! Cannot wait to get to Orlando!
How much are the tolls from Orlando International Airport to the Orange County Convention Center?
First, let's talk about the tolls from Orlando International Airport to the Orange County Convention Center.
To get from MCO to OCCC, the main road you will travel on is SR 528, also known as the Beachline Expressway (because it goes out to the east coast beaches, but you're actually taking it west). To view the route on Google Maps, click here. Here are written directions courtesy of occc.net:
1. Go west on SR 528 to exit 1 (International Drive)
2. Go north (right) approximately one mile to Convention Center
3. The West Building parking lot can be accessed by turning left at Convention Way (south entrance), Exhibit Drive (north entrance) or following Westwood Boulevard/West Entrance Drive (west entrance).
4. The North/South Building parking lot can be accessed by turning right at the South Concourse sign or continuing north on International Drive and turning right onto Convention Way and following to Universal Boulevard, turn right onto Universal Boulevard.
On 528 there are two toll plazas between the airport and your exit, the Beachline Airport Plaza and the Beachline West Main Plaza. (If you'd like, you can see these on a PDF map.) The Airport Plaza is currently $1.25 for regular cars and the West Main Plaza is $1.00. So it'll cost $2.25 in tolls to get from the airport to the convention center.
Keep in mind that all tolls are cash only. You can either pay with coins, which is faster, or you can pay with bills and get change back. It is worth noting that there are no "electronic only" tolls in the Orlando area. For now all of our tolls do have at least one booth with an attendant at all times. If you'd like to double-check my work, you can use the free toll calculator provided by the Expressway Authority. Here is what you want to input, and hopefully you'll get the same answer:
That's the tough part. The easy part is the drive from the Convention Center to Universal Orlando and on to Walt Disney World. I say easy because there are no more tolls. To get from the convention center to Universal, you just head north a few miles on International Drive. You can see the route on Google Maps by clicking here. To get from Universal to Disney, the main road is I-4, and there are no tolls on I-4. To view the route from Universal to Disney's Ticket & Transportation Center on Google Maps, click here.
Oh, one last thing: Yes, the tolls are both ways, so you'll need to pay $2.25 to drive from the convention center to Orlando International Airport.
