You could say that Winter Park is to Orlando residents what Downtown Disney is to Disney World vacationers: a collection of some of the best restaurants and shopping around, with almost all the venues within an easy walking distance of each other.
One of the best things going in Winter Park is their weekly Farmers Market. Held every Saturday from 7:00am to 1:00pm at the old train depot (there’s a map below), this market has earned the title of the NUMBER ONE produce and plant market in Central Florida–at least according to the city’s website. However, you will likely agree with this claim after you have viewed our photo gallery.

As with most farmers markets, there are plenty of other vendors accompanying the plants. The Winter Park Farmers Market features everything from locally produced honey and other sweets to kettle corn, cheese, and even coffee from Zimbabwe. This market also has a small indoor area featuring even more goods like fresh baked bread and preservatives.
And of course, there is plenty of produce:
Although the Winter Park Farmers Market is about 20 to 40 minutes away from Disney, Universal, and the other attractions on the south end of town, it is well worth the drive. If you go, plan on making an afternoon of the affair and check out the OI Winter Park walking tour.

One more time, the farmers market is Saturdays from 7:00am to 1:00pm. Here is the address, official site, and map:
