Breakfast at Kouzzina on Disney’s BoardWalk: A delicious (and peaceful) way to start the day

Breakfast at Kouzzina on Disney’s BoardWalk: A delicious (and peaceful) way to start the day

Last weekend we had the opportunity to eat breakfast at Kouzzina, the full-service restaurant by celebrity chef Cat Cora located in the BoardWalk area of Walk Disney World.

Breakfast at Kouzzina is a somewhat new option. I believe it is in response to the fact that Disney’s BoardWalk Resort does not have a restaurant with a full-service breakfast (you can get grab and go items at Belle Vue Lounge).

The decor in the restaurant is perhaps a little dark for breakfast, but it still exudes some warmth. More importantly however, because I don’t think people normally come up with the idea of having breakfast on the BoardWalk, the restaurant must stay fairly quiet in the mornings–it certainly was for us. Here is a look inside and a shot of the breakfast menu:

We ordered the Stacked Kouzzina Breakfast (two poached eggs, Kalamata olive toast, artichoke spread, and sweet potato hash with choice of bacon or chicken sausage) and the Classic Golden Waffle (with whipped Mascarpone cheese, honey, and chopped pecans and choice of bacon or chicken sausage).

Regarding the pictures of the food, let me say that I was using a lens I don’t usually use. This resulted in somewhat blurry, dark photos. The food really looked quite a bit better in person.

It was all very delicious! The Kouzzina Stacked Breakfast with its pouched eggs opening up over the hash, and with bread for slurping it all up, was exactly what I had hoped for. And the waffles were perhaps even better. However, it is worth noting that the waffles were very sweet, so they are perhaps not the best option for someone who wants a more savory breakfast. The only let down was the bacon. Thin and shrived, it was a pointless addition to its entree.

The total with tax for our two meals and a coffee was about $25. That is not bad at all for full-service breakfast at Disney World. I would definitely recommend that you make plans for the Kouzzina breakfast if you are staying in the area–or as a way to start your day at Epcot with an unexpected twist. By the way, if you happen to be visiting the area later in the day, you instead might want to check out OI Drinking around the world: Disney’s BoardWalk edition.

How was the service at breakfast? I like the menu at Kouzzina (and loved its predecessor, Spoodles) but have been disappointed by inconsistent, slow service too many times.

I agree the food looks good. But $10.49 for yogurt and granola is just not right.

The service was very good. But it is worth noting that restaurant was probably about a quarter full. Also, I'm sure the breakfast menu is easier for everyone to handle. We haven't had a chance to go there for dinner.
